But Hamas Project Complete!

You may have seen this on my social media accounts, but if not I have been working on a project these past few months that challenge the dominant Western narrative on what’s happening in Gaza during the genocide, and I’ve finally finished it. This is not advocacy for Hamas.

Essentially, I took a phrase commonly said about Hamas when I try to advocate for a ceasefire or more aid to Gazans, and I challenge the narrative surrounding and dispel some myths with facts. Everything I include was either research from respected organizations and individuals, or testimony straight from Israelis' mouths. My personal input is the sarcasm and sassiness. Here are the phrases aka the Table of Contents:

  • “But Hamas is indistinguishable from Palestinian civilians.”

  • “But Hamas is a terrorist organization.”

  • “But Hamas is an antisemitic death cult.”

  • “But Hamas was elected.”

  • “But Hamas uses (Palestinian) civilians as human shields.”

  • “But Hamas launches rockets into Israel and at civilians.”

  • “But Hamas takes hostages, including children.”

  • “But Hamas beheaded/burned babies.”

  • “But Hamas raped women.”

  • “But Hamas lies.”

  • “But Hamas would steal the money/aid/fuel.”

  • “But Hamas wouldn’t honor a ceasefire.”

  • “But Hamas doesn’t want peace.”
